role

UX Designer

In 2017 I worked for a marketing and development agency, ProQ. I worked here in a variety of roles although primarily in UX design. This particular project I worked on a redesign of a website for Beaver Coach Sales.

The primary focus of the redesign was to help users find the exact make and model of the RV they are searching. Some of the ways we supported this in the redesigned user flows included allowing the users to conduct a specific search or filter through all inventory.

My role in this project was leading the early stage concepting and wireframing through to creating visual polish and redlines. Although the site isn’t live today much was learned in the process. Check out my process and final designs below.

Discovery

When taking on this project with my team, we collaborated with the client in a few timed sessions to fully understand what their business goals were for their site. My role in this, as a UX designer, was to investigate current usage patterns on their existing site to see what was aligning with the business goals and what was not.

Usability studies

To gather data, analytics were applied to their existing site. Here we where able to identify usage patterns. After this we conducted user interviews to understand further what their primary goals were.

Problem solving

From the data collected, and keeping in mind the business goals we had a few key personas who we were solving problems for:

  1. Users to find new and used RVs they were searching for
  2. Another set of users needed to get their Beaver Coaches fixed/customized
  3. Other users were seeking information such as community events, location, hours, etc.

Now being clear about business and users goals I got to work in creating sketches which evolved into wireframes. From here we began putting together prototypes to do further testing.

Iterate + Repeat

After conducting research on prototypes put together the next step was to launch the product and test. After this iterate on data findings and repeat 🙂
